“E No Go Better For Iyabo Ojo”. Nollywood Actress Speaks As Protesters Curse Her Over Mohbad’s Case
Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has responded to a viral video showing a group of men on the streets of Lagos, cursing her over her involvement in seeking justice for late singer Mohbad.
In the video making rounds, the men were seen chanting “E no go better for Iyabo Ojo” (It won’t be well with Iyabo Ojo), accusing her of sabotaging the quest for justice and supporting Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi whom they allege is responsible for the singer’s death.
Reacting via a detailed post on her Instagram page, Iyabo clarified that she never accused anyone directly of causing Mohbad’s death. She emphasised that if she had reached such a conclusion, she wouldn’t have pursued proper legal and investigative channels.
The mother of two maintained her stance on allowing the authorities to do their job and reiterated her commitment to justice without jumping to conclusions. She pointed out that the police also invited Mohbad’s wife, brother, and several others for questioning, but stressed that she has no control over how the authorities handle their investigations.
Iyabo went on to reveal a disturbing pattern of targeted harassment against her. According to her, certain individuals have, for years, openly wished her death, called for the destruction of her means of livelihood, and even incited public violence against her and her children, yet the authorities have taken no action.
She added that just days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, a letter threatening her life was delivered to her office.
