Moment Anthony Joshua Knocks Out Jake Paul, Breaks His Jaw (pics & video)

Anthony Joshua inflicted a knockout on Jake Paul after enduring frustrating early rounds against the YouTube star in Miami.
Britain’s two-time world heavyweight champion struggled to pin down Paul in the early rounds but finally ended the fight with a huge right hand in the sixth round.
Paul, who had found it hard to keep his footing throughout the fight, toppled down by the ropes and the referee waved it off as he rose unsteadily to his feet.
But Joshua admitted afterwards that it “wasn’t the best performance”, with the 36-year-old widely expected to stop his novice opponent much sooner in the bout, which had been scheduled to go eight rounds at the Kaseya Center.
Jake Paul might not have much to say for the next few weeks after suffering a broken jaw in his fight against Anthony Joshua on Friday.
The YouTuber turned boxer didn’t go unconscious, but he did get dropped by a brutal right hand delivered by Joshua in the sixth round. The impact stung Paul badly as he struggled to get back to his feet with the referee eventually waving the fight off rather than allowing him to absorb any further damage.

Afterwards, Paul revealed that he likely suffered a broken jaw as a result of the right hand that finished the fight — and then he showed off the gruesome proof in a post on Instagram.
While Paul promised he had fun in the fight, he ultimately suffered his second professional loss and now got knocked out for the first time in his career.
“I think my jaw is broken. It’s definitely broke,” Paul said after the fight. “That was good. A nice little ass whooping from one of the best to ever do it.
“We’re going to heal the broken jaw. Come back and fight people my weight. I’m going to take a little break. I’m going to take some time off.”
After taking a trip to the hospital, Paul revealed he actually suffered two breaks in his jaw as shown by the x-ray.
For the vast majority of the fight, Paul was circling away on the outside of the ring and then ended up clinching with Joshua, which continuously forced the referee to intervene. At some points, Paul effectively dove for Joshua’s leg with the referee eventually admonishing him for the bad behavior.
With Paul fading badly, Joshua finally went for the kill and that’s when he scored the knockout punch to end the fight.
As far as healing from the broken jaw. Paul likely now heads to the hospital to get x-rays to find out the extent of the damage done. Paul may end up with his jaw wired shut to allow him time to heal, although he already stated that he planned to take some time off after the loss.
